Robin Bose

President

Robin Bose is a vice president at Endurance International Group, a provider of cloud software that helps small and medium businesses to launch and grow. Previously, he worked at Ashoka, a network of social innovators in 70+ countries. He is a two-time semifinalist of the MIT100K entrepreneurship competition. He holds an MBA from M.I.T. and a BA in international relations and economics from the University of Pennsylvania.

Robin serves as a board member at Warm Heart Worldwide, whose founders he has collaborated with for 17 years, including launching Global PACT, a social enterprise supporting young leaders solving self-identified problems in their communities. He helped develop Global PACT’s core training methods in Mongolia, facilitated its youth development workshops in the US, and helped lead its month-long all-Balkans workshops.

JOE MCCAIN

Vice-President

Joe has been serving communities in and around the Boston area for over three decades. His 26 year career as an officer, supervisor, Sergeant, and Lieutenant Commander in the Somerville Police Department have given him a first hand look at the challenges facing our communities.  He has been awarded numerous medals for bravery and valor in the line of duty.  During his time in law enforcement he ran such programs as “Cops and Kids,” and “Adopt-a-School’” in which community police officers were charged with interacting with young students in individual schools throughout the city.  Furthermore, Joe taught in the “Changing Lives through Literature” program which as a cutting edge alternative sentencing program uses the power of literature to transform lives through reading and group discussion   Most recently, he served as the program director for Alliance House, a residential, therapy based treatment facility for juvenile boys, ages 13-18, where he managed long range planning, staffing, training and the development of literature, music, athletics, and art based programs for youth committed to the residence.  Joe holds a bachelors degree from UMass Boston as well as Masters in Criminal Justice and the Arts.  Joe is born and raised in Somerville, MA and has three children.

Alec griswold

Executive Director 

With over a decade of experience in the outdoor industry, Alec has refined his skills in outdoor leadership and education.  As an alumnus of the National Outdoor Leadership School and founder of two adventure outfitters (ACKkayak & Patagon Adventures) he is proficient in risk management, environmental education, and business management.  Furthermore he has worked as an environmental consultant for various Conservation organizations.  Most recently he became manager of TownPool, a retail/marketing company, based in Nantucket and Boston.  Along with his passion for the outdoors he has become an ambassador for youth mentoring in the Boston area.  Currently he is a mentor in the Big Brother Big Sisters program as well as a certified instructor in the field of Positive Youth Development.  As the Founder of Elevate Youth, Alec continues his work in highlighting the importance of nature and mentorship in the lives of underserved youth.         

Alec grew up in Butler, Maryland and has been living in the Boston area for the past five years.

benjamin Jackson

Clerk

Benjamin serves as the Customer Success Manager, US for Biocomputing Platforms (BC Platforms).  He has extensive experience in helping teams develop systems, tools, and methodologies to better serve clients.  Benjamin served as an overnight Counselor at Boys State Massachusetts for five years in which he taught leadership skills to youth in the program.  Furthermore, he has been involved in joint research in Marine and Molecular biology and assisted in international conservation initiatives between several institutions.  Benjamin has served as a mentor in the Big Brother Big Sisters program and continues to be an example of a positive mentor for youth in the Boston area.  He holds a BA in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a minor in Philosophy from Boston University and currently resides in Boston

Nicole Davis

Nicole brings a wealth of experience in early childhood education.  She has been a teacher in Boston Public Schools for 15 years with a focus on Special Education.  She is a volunteer coach with Harlem Lacrosse Boston as well as a coach for a young girls team based in Dorchester with MetroLacrosse.  She has been a Big Sister with BBBSMB and has given her free time to multiple community driven organizations.  With a Masters in Mental Health Counseling and Movement Therapy from Lesley University, Nicole is an expert in curriculum development as well as lesson planning.

John Murphy

Treasurer

With nearly a decade spent in academic healthcare, John has extensive experience in financial redesign and programmatic growth in a dynamic and evolving industry. He has served as a subject matter expert in the areas of operational best practices, regulatory readiness, and program reorganization. His work frequently centers on finance and operational transformation. Most recently he served as a Manager at ECG Management Consultants in their Academic Healthcare Practice and prior to that he worked with inpatient and ambulatory practices in improving revenue cycle work flows, increasing patient access, and supporting the implementation of new programs at two of the nation’s leading academic medical centers (AMCs). His role at Boston Children’s Hospital included administrative management of a medical intensive care unit. Subsequently, at Massachusetts General Hospital, he supported adult inpatient and ambulatory psychiatry practices. He holds a bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of New Hampshire and a master of public health degree with a focus in policy and management from Boston University. John grew up on Peaks Island and Portland Maine and has lived in the Boston area for 10 years.
